PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH (U.S.A.) FOR UNCONDITIONAL NEGOTIATIONS WITH IRAN
The 218th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) has announced that it supports unconditional negotiations between the U.S. and Iran, as well as a peaceful solution to the nuclear dispute with Iran. Furthermore, it has made clear that a preemptive military strike is no option.

MILLION DOORS FOR PEACE
"A coalition working to end the war in Iraq announced it is organizing the year’s largest anti-war mobilization. Million Doors for Peace, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20, will ask one million Americans to sign petitions urging the next Congress to bring U.S. troops home from Iraq within one year."

AS CLOSE TO IMPEACHMENT AS WE'VE BEEN SO FAR
This Friday, July 25th, the House Judiciary Committee will convene a hearing called "Executive Power and Its Constitutional Limitations." While not defined explicitly as a hearing on the articles of impeachment that Rep. Dennis Kucinich has put forth, this is the closest we've seen to a formal discussion on Capitol Hill related to the issue of impeachment. Click here for the AP article explaining what's happening.

Bellingham becomes the first city in Washington State to pass a resolution opposing US military intervention in Iran. On July 14, the Bellingham City Council unanimously passed the resolution.

Last night, June 16, the Oberlin, OH City Council unanimously passed a resolution opposing preemptive attack on Iran. Congratulations to the city of Oberlin!
We are happy to announce that Cambridge, MA has joined the growing list of cities throughout the nation with No War on Iran Resolutions. Congratulations to Cambridge and its City Council that passed the resolution last Monday, June 9.

Congratulations to Bar Harbor, ME whose Town Hall passed a resolution last night, June 3, opposing a war with Iran unless expressly authorized by Congress.
Harpswell, ME has joined the growing list of cities with resolutions opposing a war with Iran. On May 12, 2008, Harpswell's Special Town Meeting held its vote with 112 in favor and 24 opposed. Congratulations to the town of Harpswell!

Tomorrow, May 15, the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) will hold a meeting to hear testimony from a group of Iraq Veterans Against the WAR (IVAW) members. Please read the CPC's media advisory, as well as the IVAW's schedule for tomorrow's meeting.

Today, May 14, the Chicago City Council will vote on a No War Resolution regarding Iran. Watch the historic Chicago vote to prevent war with Iran today at 11 am (EST) in a live stream.
